Nominaties Emmy's: Géén 'Game of Thrones'; wel 'Westworld' en 'Stranger Things'

Doordat Game of Thrones dit jaar een stuk later wordt uitgezonden, ontbreekt deze HBO-serie bij de jaarlijkse Emmy Awards. Dit heeft tot gevolg dat andere series de kans hebben om een van de tv-onderscheidingen te bemachtigen.

HBO-serie Westworld heeft dit jaar de meeste nominaties ontvangen. De sciencefictionserie maakt maar liefst 22 keer kans op een Emmy. Ook de Netflix-serie Stranger Things deed het goed, met 18 nominaties. Opvallend zijn de 'slechts' 11 nominaties voor dramaserie This Is Us, een van de grootste hits van het afgelopen televisieseizoen.

De series van Netflix kregen in totaal maar liefst 91 nominaties. Een jaarrecord. Maar liefst 17 opeenvolgende jaren was het HBO die de meeste nominaties van alle televisiezenders binnensleepte.

De bijhorende show wordt gehost door Stephen Colbert en deze vindt plaats op 17 september, te zien op de zender CBS.
